Here’s what’s included in the tour of this charming fishing village.
1. Plaça del Doctor Trèmol
We start the route at one of its main squares.
A look around will let you enjoy the typical Mediterranean coastal village scenery. It’s the perfect start for an exciting tour.
2. Carrer des Call
Walking along this street in Cadaqués’ historic center will make you travel back in time.
We’ll climb this narrow, traditionally cobbled street, which will lead us to our next stop.

4. Església de Santa Maria de Cadaqués
We’ll visit the Church of Santa Maria, a lovely building with both Gothic and Baroque touches.

Picasso and Dalí, among other famous painters, depicted this church in some of their works. Being a source of inspiration for such renowned artists, many professional and amateur painters visit Cadaqués to “capture” it.
Inside, you’ll be amazed by the altar, which dates back to 1727 and was created by Pau Costa. It is dedicated to the village’s patron saint: the Mare de Déu de l’Esperança.
5. Streets and corners of Cadaqués
After visiting the church, we’ll continue our walk through the narrow, maze-like streets that, in the 60s and 70s, attracted so many tourists—especially bohemians and artists. Today, while that kind of visitor still comes, they are far from the only ones.
During this part of the Cadaqués excursion, we’ll share the stories hidden in its corners.
We’ll see fishermen’s cottages and more modernist buildings, from the time when locals who had gone to Cuba to seek their fortune returned to their hometown with wealth.
