Interest points
Departure
We will leave Girona in the morning from the agreed meeting point. Our first stop will be Santa Pau.
First Stop
The medieval village of Santa Pau lies southeast of the Olot plain, in the volcanic area. It concentrates the largest number of volcanic phenomena: the Margarida volcano, the Jordà Beech Forest, and the Croscat volcano. We will walk through its streets, visit the medieval wall, and explore the Old Town.
Santa Margarida Volcano
One of the most famous volcanoes in the area. Here we will have breakfast before climbing to the Chapel of Santa Margarida, located right in the crater.
La Fageda
A magical beech forest that looks like something out of a fairy tale. It sits on a lava flow, making it even more impressive. Walk under its tall trees, learn about the "tossols," and breathe the fresh air. Then, enjoy a delicious picnic.
Banyoles
Our last stop. Enjoy a guided visit to discover its origin and history while walking along the shore of the stunning lake.
