The most authentic medieval villages

Besalú, Peratallada, Pals and Begur — four medieval villages from different eras and characters, each with its own story. No copies, no mass tourism.

🍷

Cycling wine tour DO Empordà

The slowest — and best — way to experience the Empordà vineyards. Bike route between wineries, with tastings at each stop. A unique experience in Catalonia.

🌋

Garrotxa: the best-kept secret

40 extinct volcanoes, century-old beech forests, and a nature that contrasts with picture-postcard Costa Brava. A day that changes how you see Catalonia.

Why you'll love this journey

Medieval Girona in all its depth — the Jewish Quarter, walls, and cathedral with a guide who knows every corner

Besalú: Catalonia's most complete Romanesque village, with the only archaeological mikvé on the Iberian Peninsula

Garrotxa: 40 extinct volcanoes and Fageda d'en Jordà, the beech forest over lava that seems from a fairy tale

Cycling wine tour through DO Empordà — kilometers of vineyards with the Pyrenees and Mediterranean as your horizon

Tastings at 2-3 selected wineries — granite wines and Tramuntana wind wines, almost unknown outside the region and all the more special

Peratallada, Pals and Begur: three centuries of history in stone, in three villages that compete in beauty and authenticity

3 nights in unique accommodations: boutique hotel in Girona, rural cottage in Empordà (two nights)

Travel for those who journey slowly — no rush, no obligations, time for the details

Before booking

Do I need to know how to cycle for Day 3's bike route?

The bikes are electric, so physical effort is minimal even uphill. You only need to have cycled before. The route is adaptable in length depending on the group.

When do the 2 nights at the cottage happen?

The cottage is accommodation for Days 2 and 3, after visiting Besalú/Garrotxa. It's a real historic cottage with character, pool, gardens, and its own vineyards — not a design hotel.

Can you visit all 3 medieval villages on Day 4 in one day?

Yes, comfortably. They are 3 relatively close villages (30-45 minutes driving between them). Your guide optimizes the route so there's no rush and time for lunch in Peratallada if desired.

Is this suitable for couples?

It's one of our most popular packages for couples. The rural cottage, cycling wine tour, and medieval villages create a very special atmosphere. We can add romantic dinners, spa nights, or other activities.

Is it possible to extend to 5 days?

Yes — by adding a day further south on Costa Brava (Cap de Creus, Cadaqués, or Empúries) or a more intensive wine day. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll design it.
