Are you looking for excursions in Cadaqués? Take a look at our historical walking route
Are you one of those who like to know well the places you visit and immerse yourself fully in their history? Without a doubt, this way of traveling makes the experience much more enriching.
Well, that’s exactly what awaits you if you hire our historic route.
Stay tuned to the points of interest that we are going to show you!

1. Plaça del Doctor Trèmol
We start the route with a first stop in one of its main squares.
A look around will allow us to enjoy the typical picture of a Mediterranean coastal town. And, of course, it promises us a most interesting tour.
2. Carrer des Call
Strolling down this street, in the historic center of Cadaqués, will take you back in time.
We will go up this narrow street, with a typical cobblestone, that will lead us to our next stop.
But do not get lost and take a good look at the road.
Because it is possible that you saw the odd siren …
What is this about the mermaid? You will have to discover it yourself if you come. Because each of its streets has a “detail” or a special story.
3. Viewpoint next to the Town Hall
Once we reach the highest point of the town, we will come across a viewpoint that gives us beautiful views of the Bay of Cadaqués and the beautiful fishermen’s houses.
You will be able to better appreciate the shape of this bay that was a natural refuge for boats when sea conditions were not favorable.

4. Esglesia Santa Maria de Cadaqués
We arrive at the church of Santa María, a beautiful construction in which we can appreciate both Gothic and Baroque touches.
Do you want a fun fact about this church?
We give you several.
Picasso and Dalí, among other famous painters, represented this church in some of their works. As a source of inspiration for such renowned artists, many professional and amateur painters visit Cadaqués to “portray” this church.
Inside the church, you will be amazed at the sight of the altar that dates back to 1727 and was the brainchild of Pau Costa. It is an altar dedicated to the patron virgin of the town: La mare de Deu de l’Esperança.
5. Streets and corners of Cadaqués
After seeing the church, we continue the route to lose ourselves through those narrow and labyrinthine streets that during the 60s and 70s attracted so many tourists, especially bohemians and artists. Today, although these types of visitors continue to come, they are not the only ones who come.
During this part of the excursion through Cadaqués we will tell you the stories that its corners harbor.
We will see fishermen’s houses and more modernist buildings, from the time when the local inhabitants who had gone to Cuba to make their fortune, returned to their hometown with riches.
Of course, you will not leave without a good repertoire of photos of special places.
6. Lookout
We will pass through another of the most popular viewpoints to contemplate the views of the city.
And we will continue exploring the most picturesque places in Cadaqués.

7. Platja Gran
To finish the tour, we will go along the promenade on a pleasant walk to feel the caress of the gentle sea breeze.
